• Halloween Decor

As y’all may know by now, I love decorating for the holidays! Halloween is so fun. I like to keep it pretty kid friendly and avoid any severed fingers or slasher film props since I have my #4littlebyerlys at home still. I have sparkly/glittery items in our foyer, jack-o-lanterns a plenty on the front stoop and fun pumpkins in the dining room. I started planning my Halloween decor classes this year and fell in love with a new look that I may have to add to my home decor!

I am calling it the Tim Burton look. It feels very Sweeney Todd or Nightmare Before Christmas to me. I made signs, pillows, and scrap fabric banners. Come in to my class on 10/19/19 to paint your own Halloween signs. You can stay with my black, white orange theme or choose your own colors to create a totally different look! Paint one or all 7 sign styles! Get your tickets to this fun class here.

  • Multiple Holiday Decor

I absolutely love decorating for the holidays! When I say “holidays” I mean that I start decorating in September for fall, October for Halloween, November for Thanksgiving and December for Christmas. There is a solid 4 month period where I am decorating, redecorating, creating decor, shopping for decor and dreaming of holiday decorating! It’s awesome!

The main problem with my holiday decorating obsession (according to my husband) is that there is soooooo much stuff. He’s right, but good lord don’t tell him that! My solution for cutting back on the clutter in the storage areas of our home??? Multiple holiday decor! I make double sided signs and simply flip them around when the next holiday hits. Let me show you what I mean:

All of these projects (both outdoor and indoor) can be used for more than one holiday decorating season. 2 seasons- 1 sign… space saver! I have classes set up for this holiday season where you can come into RHB and paint your own double sided holiday decor. I can also complete projects for you if the holiday season is just too busy! Sign up for a class/workshop here or contact me here to place a custom order.

We are located at 211 E Aspen Ave in Fruita, CO and would love to see your beautiful faces in the store! Stop by between 10a-5p Monday – Thursday or 10a-7p on Fridays and Saturdays.

As always, THANKS for shopping small, local and handmade. I appreciate every purchase and enjoy crafting with you every time!

  • Fall Decor

Fall is in the air… well in my mind it is anyway! It’s still 100 degrees here in Western Colorado but I KNOW that fall is just around the corner. I started creating fall signs the other day and am loving how they look!

I started with these cute welcome home and hello fall signs. How cute are they?! Come into the store on August 30 and paint your own!

Next I painted these fun farm truck signs. I have painted these trucks for every season and they are always fun! I am having a class on September 14th for these fun signs.

Then I crafted these Welcome to our patch and Happy Fall Y’all signs. I always have to throw in a y’all for every season!! These signs can be painted on September 21st.

    Thank you!

As always I just want to say thank you for shopping small, local and handmade. We appreciate every single purchase!!!

  • Mad Hatter Photo Shoot Pt. 2

You may have ready my post about our Mad Hatter styled photo shoot that I shared back on May 5- if not here is a quick recap. SEVERAL local vendors made an amazing collaborative effort to pull off a fun and funky Mad Hatter themed photo shoot behind my building to help promote my girl Cindy’s new event rental company Bits & Pieces. It was a loooong day (about 14 hours and 24,000 steps!) but it was a ton of fun and well worth the work. Our amazing photographer Jordan, owner of Carved Tree Photography, just let us know that the photos are finished. Yay- happy dance! Here are just a few of the amazing shots that she captured that day. Keep an eye out on our social media and in local publications for more photos!

As always- thanks for shopping small, local and handmade!

  • Cornhole

Cornhole, bean bag toss, bags, or whatever folks in your neck of the woods call it is a summer time family fun must have game! We spent a week in California over New Years and went to the beach, museums, Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, Legoland and more! Do you know what the kids did every day and continued to talk about when we got home? They played cornhole in our hotel courtyard. We have never had a cornhole set but if this trip is any indication- we need one! So… mom came home and started building cornhole boards. My sister immediately asked for a set as well and then several friends wanted the game too, so I scheduled a Custom Cornhole painting class in the DIY Market. Customers loved this class and it sold out very quickly. The boards are regulation size, sturdy and affordable and the best part is that you can customize your boards! Take a look at some of the sets that have been painted in the DIY Market at Raspberry Hill Boutique.

We have another cornhole class coming up this weekend and hope to see you there! Get your tickets here or contact Kylie here to schedule another time to come in and create your own set of cornhole boards.

Thanks for shopping small, local and handmade!

Bits & Pieces Wedding & Event Rentals

One of the very best things about owning Raspberry Hill Boutique (211 E Aspen Ave in Fruita, CO) is the fact that I get to work side-by-side with some amazing local vendors. In the boutique we have hand made soaps, lotions, bath bombs, candles, hair accessories, screen printed and sublimated tees, natural stone jewelry and so much more all made by local artisans. One of my vendors is Cindy Farrington with Harmony Lane. She has an amazing knack for finding fun funky vintage items! She has collected so many wonderful rare finds that she is starting a wedding and event rental company to share these items with the world… check out Bits & Pieces Wedding and Event Rentals at Raspberry Hill Boutique! To kick-off her new business she decided to collaborate with some of our artisans and other local vendors to pull off a styled photo shoot as funky as she is to showcase some of her available rental items. FUN!

    The Venue

We have access (thanks to my amazing neighbor) to an industrial paradise next door. It has crumbly brick, exposed electrical conduit, vintage iron doors, and more! We set up 4 separate vignettes in this area as well as 3 more in the neighbor behind us’ patio area. Thanks Hot Tomato!

    The collaborators

We had an amazing bunch of models that allowed us to snap shots of little girls playing in the garden, a family having a tea party, the mad hatter herself, and a beautiful bride! The ever sweet Jordan Perry of Carved Tree Photography captured all this and more. April of April Marie Events kept us all on track and on task. Beauty by Lynze did all of the adorable hair and beautiful make-up. Sam Wyatt of The Maven Pen created a funky hand lettered Cheshire Cat denim jacket and sandwich board sign for us. Katy with The Pearled Rose hand crafted some amazingly adorable mini Mad Hatter hats with feathers, flowers and more for the little models. And then there were all of the goodies!!! Cakes, cookies and scones thanks to Pistachio, Simply Cakes by Camberly, and Ever After Cakes and Creations. The flowers were provided by Bride and Bloom Design. The bride was outfitted by Annelise Bridal. And I am sure that I am forgetting someone!! There were so many amazing people involved in this project!! I had a blast creating fun clocks and frames, moss covered tables, vintage porch post arches and more. I am so very thankful to be apart of such an amazing group of women and can not wait to see the photos that Jordan captured! Watch our page for sneak peeks and full photo release. Also, be sure to contact me if you have questions about any of the rental items pictured!

  • Teacher Appreciation Signs

Here at Raspberry Hill Boutique (211 E Aspen Ave in Fruita, CO) we are preparing for National Teacher Appreciation week May 6-10, 2019. I am a member of the PTA board where my daughter (#3) goes to elementary school. One of the things that we love to do as PTA members and as moms is to SPOIL our teachers during teacher appreciation week. These hard working heroes spend almost every day teaching, caring for and helping our children to grow into amazing adults. They deserve a week of treats, meals and special gifts!

This year we are having a fun “Best Teachers in the World” theme which allows us to incorporate meals and treats from around the world. I’m not gonna lie- excited about Swedish meatball day. Yummy!

One of the ways that I, as a small business owner, am able to participate is by making signs for the teachers and staff (we include everyone!). One one of the days the teachers will receive personalized signs with their names and an encouraging or funny message. The staff and teacher’s aides will receive a smaller sign with Teach Love Inspire and paw prints since our mascot is a lion. On another day the teachers and staff will all get a sign that says “In a world where you can be anything be kind”. The last gift that I get to help with is personalized coffee cups. Fun!

I am excited to finish these projects (100 signs and 50 cups!) so that we can give back a little something to these amazing people that give so much to our families. If you would like to make a gift for your favorite teacher you can join us in Teacher Appreciation Sign Class on Monday May 6th at 3:00pm. Get your ticket(s) here!
